This page will expand over time with carefully verified content covering beliefs, figures, texts, monasteries and festivals, rather than a single flattened description of "Buddhism" as one uniform tradition.
Beliefs
Buddhist traditions generally engage with concepts such as the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, karma and rebirth, and the goal of liberation from suffering (nirvana), though schools differ in emphasis, philosophy and practice — Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions, for example, have distinct textual canons and approaches. Nepal is home to multiple such traditions rather than one uniform school.
Teachings
Teachings are transmitted through monastic training, textual study, ritual practice and teacher-student relationships that vary by school and lineage. Because Buddhism in Nepal includes several distinct traditions with their own teaching lineages, this page intentionally avoids collapsing them into one account; individual schools and lineages will be introduced separately as verified content is added.
