About

Dharmodaya Sabha ("Society for the Rise of the Teaching") was founded in Sarnath, India, in 1944 by a group of Buddhist monks who had been expelled from Nepal for promoting Theravada Buddhism and writing in Nepal Bhasa. The organization published books and the magazine Dharmodaya, and played a significant role in the 20th-century revival of Theravada Buddhism in Nepal. This page presents only a general historical introduction; its current status and activities are not confirmed here and are not claimed either way.
