About
The conference was organized by the Lumbini Development Trust to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Gautama Buddha, and to highlight Lumbini internationally as his traditional birthplace. Delegations and Buddhist community representatives from a number of countries attended. This page presents only a general historical introduction; this conference recurs periodically in some form, but no future instance's date is confirmed here, so none is claimed.
